In Me, hand-built stoneware paper-clay, glaze fired, added egg sculptures; 6”h x 10”w x 9”d
In Me
This piece is conceptualizing, in ceramics, the reality of how I imagine being surrounded and filled by God’s Presence. I used the metaphor of an organic nest form to imply protection, new life, and growth. I mixed stoneware with paper fibre to make paper-clay; then, I used the pinch method, over a various sizes of nesting forms, to construct the three nesting pieces. After bisque-firing, I mixed a unique glaze which when applied thinly is robin’s egg blue, on the inner leaves; applied thickly a warm organic gold.
