In Me, hand-built stoneware paper-clay, glaze fired. 6”h x 10”w x 9”d

In Me

This piece is conceptualizing in ceramics, the reality of how I imagine being surrounded and filled by God’s Presence. I used the metaphor of an organic nest form to imply protection, new life, and growth. I mixed stoneware with paper fibre to make paper-clay; then, I used the pinch method, over a various sizes of nesting forms, to construct the three nesting pieces. After firing, I assembled the next forms, and added three small egg sculptures.
